Athenian Properties and Razak Company Merge; Announce Formation of AthenianRazak

Merger Brings Together Two Significant Philadelphia-based
Real Estate Services Companies

Athenian Properties and Razak Company are pleased to announce a merger, effective October 1, 2011, to form AthenianRazak, a real estate services company that consults on, creates, and manages real property.

The merger represents the joining of two successful Philadelphia-based real estate companies—Athenian Properties, founded by Jacqueline Buhn in 2001 and Razak Company, founded by Alan Razak in 2003—that have collaborated on many joint projects.  AthenianRazak, a woman-owned business, will be led by Ms. Buhn as Principal & CEO and Mr. Razak as Principal.

“We are excited to bring together the vision of our teams and our integrated understanding of all aspects of real estate through our newly-formed company,” said Jacqueline Buhn, Principal & CEO of AthenianRazak.

AthenianRazak’s services will include development management; owner’s representation and project management; REO management and receiverships; multifamily and commercial property management; data center consulting; and historic redevelopment.

“For years, Athenian Properties and Razak Company have been steadily building an impressive array of work in the real estate services market throughout the Mid-Atlantic region,” said Alan Razak, Principal of AthenianRazak.  “Now that we can offer our services jointly, we can ensure that clients benefit from our expertise ranging from financial structuring and strategic planning to hands-on construction and management.”

Recent projects that Athenian Properties and Razak Company have collaborated on include Lenfest Hall at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and data centers at 350 Cermak in Chicago.

AthenianRazak will be located at 833 Chestnut Street, Suite 909 in Philadelphia.
