Pembroke North Condominium Selected for 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania 2011 Commonwealth Awards

In September 2011, Pembroke North Condominium was selected for the 2011 Commonwealth Awards.  Pembroke North was developed by AthenianRazak in a joint venture with The Lenfest Group.

The site was an original industrial operation which was converted to a commercial facility. The project was designed in close proximity to two regional rail stations, and is also situated close to retail shopping, personal care, and dining – all can be accessed without necessitating the use of a car.

Pembroke North sits at the nexus between residential and commercial contexts. The design addresses this using traditional domestic architectural details and materials with simple and efficient building forms. The red brick exteriors are accented with broad stone stripes and large windows. Interior living spaces feature gracious unit configurations, balconies, abundant natural light, and elegant finishes. A ground floor garage provides convenient covered parking below the residential units.  Pembroke North was designed to achieve certification by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.

10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania is the leading statewide voice for great places to live and work.  They work with citizens, organizations, and public officials to create land use, infrastructure and governance policies, and practices that protect the state’s resources and strengthen its economy.
